Deciding to Share

Hi friends.

I’ve decided to come to Medium to share my journey of both 1) getting diagnosed with interstitial cystitis (IC) and 2) how I manage the condition. My goal is to educate those unaware of IC as well as provide some relief and companionship to those suffering. The condition can be very lonely — I’ve yet to physically meet someone diagnosed with IC (and I live in the highly populated city of San Francisco). I’m so thankful for the IC YouTubers and Instagrammers that share their stories regularly because their stories and advice have made me feel less alone during the darkest days. I hope to provide even an ounce of that comfort to others.

Selfishly, I hope the writing process brings me catharsis and channels my pain/dark days into positive energy. I also would love to improve my writing so it’s a win-win.

Side note: As I continue these posts, there is a chance I’ll pivot to talk about my journey with music or work-related ish.
