An Ode to October!

Oh October!

The whispers of summer slither past the sides of the budding and blooming of pleasures of spring. Heat punctuates the cool. Colours vibrate life after fall.

Lilac and roses, cumquats and plums. Wisteria weeping over the side of fences. Jasmine climbing and invading, slipping through cracks. Roses luring and ensnaring. Velvet heads luring, guarded by a fury of thorns and pricks.

Soft breezes and rays of light. Prickles and goosebumps. Bees buzzing, wasps watching. The slow dance of cherry blossoms, petals pirouette along the streams of wind.

Lavender, jasmine, salt and sea. The intoxicating unfurling of sensuality. Hedonism reigns supreme. Blades of grass irate as sinuses start to sting. The dark morning and a long, light night.

Oh October! You’re the summer months without the pervasive heat! The thawing of winter and the parade of Spring! My soul rumbles and gasps with surprise! Beckoned on by the display of life!
