Importance of cleansing your Chakras

Why does everyone shower, brush their teeth or shampoo their hair? As humans, we tend to forget about one of the most important parts of our body, our chakras. On a daily basis we absorb energy from our surroundings. Good and bad — if we want it to or not. With the practice of meditation, we can allow ourselves to “cleanse” our body. This allows us to maintain our balance and eliminate the negative energy we absorb. Let me explain that for you in a more detailed way;

To begin with, lets describe what a “Chakra” is. The word “Chakra” comes from Indian text meaning “wheel”. This is actually a metaphor for spinning energy fields. Chakras are centers of energy that are placed within our human body. They help us regulate our organs, emotions and immune system. There are 7 main chakra fields placed in our body. They start from the base of our spine, to the crown of our head. Each field has its own frequency which allows it to produce the right amount of energy needed for the body and soul. However, if one of the chakras is out of its natural frequency or balance then your health and life could be affected.

No-one wants to suffer and feel imbalanced on a regular everyday basis. As I mentioned earlier stating that “your health and life could be affected” doesn’t mean it can’t be fixed. This is where meditation kicks in. It allows us to bring back balance to our mind and body.

“The goal behind all spiritual practices is to reach a place of balance between spirit, body, earth and health, universality and grounding.”- Mindvalley

There are certain exercises that you can do to keep your chakras healthy, in balance and “clean”.

1. Chakra Meditation.

This is a form of meditation that consist of several techniques that require a relaxed state of mind that brings back balance, relaxation and well-being to the chakras.

2. Affirmations.

Affirmations are powerful tools used for Chakra healing. They are positive statements that lie within us and work together to strengthen and heal an imbalanced chakra. When discussing affirmations, we are able to see different aspects, that our body feels comforted with. This allows us to regain the imbalanced energy field which we were missing. Here are some examples of affirmations for the various Chakras:

3. Essential Oils.

Another important part of Chakra healing is the use of essential oils. These can be combined with special massage techniques. A displayed chart is listed below that shows you recommended oils for each Chakra:

4. Chakra stones.

The Chakra stones are known as healing crystals that contain specific colors and vibrations. Every Chakra has a specified color, and this same color can be used in Chakra healing. However, even though the majority of stones with a certain color will be used to heal a specific Chakra, there are a few stones that can be utilized to heal multiple Chakras i.e. Clear quartz for the crown chakra, Amethyst for third eye chakra ect.

7. Yoga.

When the wheel-of-energy or a Chakra is stuck it can be beneficial to release the energy or prana using movement. Yoga postures have been recognized as a fantastic technique to release stuck or stagnant energy out of the body. This encourages the flow of vital and fresh energy back into the body through breath and postures.

My conclusion in this article is letting the reader know there are many ways you can cleanse your chakras. You can try each one of them out and see which one suits you best. Many people also combine different practices to live a more balanced and healthy lifestyle.
