That Place

Rondeau Poem

Show me that place where we can glow
where stars will fall like winter snow.
The space where sadness has no place
where tears no longer trace your face
and where our dreams can clearly grow.

There is a place where we can go
to dance the night at our tempo
and where love feels a warm embrace,
show me that place…

Take hold of me that we may sow
the seeds to make our own meadow.
To flourish there in our own space
where love is not a lonely race
and we can have our tomorrow,
show me that place…

A Rondeau is a French poetry form with 15 lines in three stanzas. The first stanza is a quintet, the second is a quatrain, and the third is a sestet. The rhyme scheme is as follows: aabba aabR aabbaR where the R is a short refrain taken from part of the first line of the first stanza. Each line is between eight and 10 syllables.
